Dr. D.Y. Patil Institute of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics started in the year 2004. It qualifies as one of the finest institute imparting B. Tech in Biotechnology and Bioinformatics and M. Tech (integrated) in Biotechnology owing to its excellent faculty and supreme infrastructure. In the year 2007, the institute started M.Sc in Biotechnology & in the year 2010, the institute started Ph.D. program in Biotechnology and Bioinformatics.
Biotechnology labs are well-equipped with laboratory facilities in biochemistry, biotechnology, molecular biology, animal tissue culture and plant tissue. The Bioinformatics laboratory is well-equipped with high speed computers, application software and internet facilities.
