About Us

In 2003, Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth (DPU), Pune, was established as a "Deemed-to-be-University" under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956. It started with one constituent unit i.e. Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College, Hospital and Research Centre, Pune. Over the years, since its inception, the Vidyapeeth has grown exponentially and many more constituent Institutions have come into existence under its umbrella. The Government of India, MHRD, on the advice of UGC, vide its notification dated 11th January 2003 declared Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune as a Deemed-to-be University comprising of Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College, Hospital and Research Centre, Pimpri, Pune.

Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth in Pune has achieved a worldwide rank of 1001-1200 in the 2025 World University Rankings and holds the 45th position nationally in India. Under the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2024, conducted by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune has achieved the rank 5th in Dental Category, 11th in the Medical Category, and 44th in the University Category in India.
